My Inspiration

As I mentioned on the home page, Rhett and Link who were already personal inspirations were also why I decided to switch my sleep cycle up.  In their always funny YouTube videos, (the specific sleep cycle one can be found here), they describe the different ways that you are able to format your sleeping habits.  When they discussed these options it was intriguing for me.

After watching Rhett and Link's video and having a natural desire to maximize my productivity on a daily basis, I decided to take on the Biphasic sleep cycle that I briefly describe in the post titled "The Basics".  If you are curious as to why I specifically chose this cycle over the others that Rhett and Link mention you can find that in, "The Basics," and "Preview For Things To Come." These journal posts along with the rest for the experiment are easily located in my blog under the subheading to the left titled "Sleep Journal."

This project is not only to become more productive but it's also to see how well I handle it and if the transition period and negative side effects are worth the reward. I'm excited to begin this new adventure of minimizing sleep and maximizing productivity then examine the results that will follow along with how this specific sleep cycle effects me personally.

If you're curious about other types of successfully performed sleep cycles or just want to look at others in more depth, you can find that information over at High Existence.  The specific article can be located right here.  They also have other articles on sleep routines and even lucid dreams.  I would check it out if I had some free time.

Schedule

I thought that this was a pretty important  page to have as it's the sleeping rules by which I will live my unconscious life.  Again, if you don't know, I will be performing the biphasic sleep cycle.  This means that I will be sleeping twice a day.  The catch is that I will be sleeping for a total of five hours. To lay it out simply, as of now these are the times when I am asleep:

1 p.m. to 5a.m.

2 p.m. to 3p.m.

These times could be changed later on in order to better suit my sleeping needs.  They have already been altered two days as on June 27 and 28 the afternoon rest period was moved forward one hour so that I could get to Hamilton for my girlfriends prom and graduation respectively.
I will say in a journal post if I am going to change the time for good but if you miss that one check back here and I will have all the information ready.

  1. I'm a Mythical Beast as well...:D Haha, I feel weird to call myself that, but I don't know what else to call myself except for what Rhett and Link call their 'watchers'. :P I am from Romania, I came here by your comment on Adventures in Public Transport. I think what you are doing is really cool, and just by doing this you show a lot of self-discipline. I wish I could try it out, but I am still in school. I will continue to read your blog! :D Have a great day.

  2. Thanks for the comment kgeddes! Yes, Rhett and Link have some unusual practices to say the least haha. That was my problem too and that's why I had to wait until summer break. I appreciate you checking out my blog and hope to see you again soon!

under your schedule to 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. so as not to confuse people.
